Why I’m Optimizing for Flow, Not Balance
It’s a long-standing joke in my home. My husband looks at my daily itinerary—a jigsaw puzzle of executive board meetings, our son’s karate commitments, and a non-negotiable heavy weight lifting session—laughs, and says: “You would need to hit every single green light in the city for this schedule to actually work.”
He’s right.
I leverage momentum until my to-do list is checked off, knowing the more efficient I am during the day, the more flexibility I’ll have when the sun sets.
As a full-time executive and proud mom, I’ve realized that the traditional concept of "work-life balance" is the wrong goal for me. "Balance" implies a stagnant seesaw, where giving to one side requires taking from the other. It suggests we have to stand still to stay upright.
I don't want to stand still. I want to move forward together on all fronts.
I am not looking for balance; I am seeking Flow. That frictionless state where my professional ambition and personal presence move in sync.
Achieving that flow requires two things: relentless efficiency and potent biological fuel. I created All Green Lights CEO to document my "N-of-1" experiments as I refine my methodology. It all boils down to a framework I call Vitals & Vices.
On this blog, I sharing raw data from my testing of everything from biometric tech and custom supplement stacks (my Vitals) to the occasional, high-value indulgences that feed the soul (my Vices).
If you are tired of feeling "consumed" by your schedule and are ready to start "optimizing" your flow, you’re in the right place.
Let’s hit all green lights.
